Union Media secures MENA rights to eight BIG Media factual series

Union Media s.a.r.l., the Beirut-based producer and distributor of documentary, factual and family content, has signed a licensing agreement with BIG Media for a package of eight factual series, around 50 hours of programming, for the Middle East and North Africa.

Under the agreement, Union Media holds exclusive rights across MENA for television, pay TV and streaming platforms. The deal covers both completed series and new seasons currently in production.

The titles

  • Unthinkable – Moments that Shocked the World (10 x 60’) – the news events that changed recent history, one category per episode, through archive and expert analysis. Co-produced with NTV / RTL Deutschland.
  • Hashtag Homicide – Season 1 (7 x 60’) – where social media and true crime meet: detectives and online sleuths follow digital clues that bring murder cases to court.
  • Truthseekers – Season 3 (8 x 60’) – the world’s most enduring mysteries, from Loch Ness and Area 51 to the Templar treasure and Troy. Co-produced with RMC Story.
  • Dark Horizons – Mysteries of the Planets (13 x 30’) – a journey through the solar system’s unanswered questions, arriving in MENA as a world first run.
  • Danger Decoded – Season 2 (10 x 60’) – the world’s most perilous places and people, ranked and explained. In production, delivery 2027.
  • Fatal Engineering – Season 2 (6 x 60’) – high-profile accidents dissected to find the human errors and design flaws behind them. In production, delivery 2027.
  • Two new one-off documentaries, to be announced on delivery.

Localised versions of all titles are in production. The first group – Unthinkable, Hashtag Homicide and Truthseekers – will be available to broadcasters and platforms from January 2027; the remaining series follow on delivery.
